Se você consultou recentemente um oftalmologista você provavelmente já ouviu sim.

O oftalmologista também deve ter contado que não é só o computador que emite essa luz, mas também vários outros eletrônicos como aparelhos celulares e televisores smartphones.

O que você talvez não saiba, é que na verdade não se tem, até o momento, a certeza se essa luz é benéfica ou maléfica. O que se tem são estudos que vem sendo desenvolvidos para descobrir tudo a respeito dessa luz. Ela existe e está cada vez mais inserida em nossa rotina diária.

Muitos trabalhos desenvolvidos por universidades, hospitais e até fabricantes de lentes, trazem a informação que essa luz pode ser a responsável também pela perda do sono.

Em um estudo desenvolvido pela Universidade de Harvard diz que essa luz emite uma luminosidade que é muito semelhante a luz do dia, o que sugere ao nosso cérebro que é necessário a produção de melatonina, que é o hormônio responsável por ser o que chamamos de “relógio biológico”.

Já outras pesquisas dizem que a luz azul, ao alcançar a retina pode afetar o nosso bem estar psicológico, mas como tudo que é utilizado em excesso se torna prejudicial, com a luz azul não é  diferente, hoje  passamos muitas horas na frente de aparelhos que emitem essa luz e além de interferir em nosso sono por exemplo, ela luz vai acabar influenciando diretamente em nossos olhos, trazendo um enorme cansaço visual como uma de suas maiores consequências, o que pode acarretar vários outros problemas oculares, esse é o discurso que ouvimos ao entrar em uma ótica.

Mas como minimizar esses efeitos se a cada dia esses aparelhos estão mais inseridos nas atividades cotidianas?

Muito dos fabricantes de lentes oftalmológicas, já fornecem algum tratamento antirreflexo para minimizar esses efeitos da luz azul.

Ao ser entrevistado Tallis Barbosa, que é representante de uma fabricante mundial de lentes, contou que esse filtro tem como finalidade barrar essa luz. “A luz azul é emitida, mas antes de encontrar nossos olhos ela fica barrada nas lentes dos óculos”, diz o representante.

Um oftalmologista da cidade, que preferiu não ser identificado, disse que esse filtro é apenas um item para se agregar valor na lente, pois ao ver dele não vai conseguir filtrar a luz azul por completo como as marcas prometem. E ainda acrescentou que “ todo antirreflexo vai filtrar essa luz, mas nenhum banir totalmente”. O profissional indica que o correto é associar o uso da lente com não abusar na frente desses aparelhos, principalmente no período da noite onde nossos olhos estão mais cansados.

Mas, existem outras opiniões. “Em qualquer ótica da cidade você encontra esse tipo de tratamento para os seus óculos, tendo ele grau ou não. Hoje esse tipo de antirreflexo tem sido campeão de vendas”, conta Dahiany Barbosa que além de consultora óptica é também usuária desse tipo de lente. Como consultora ela relata que recebe por dia no mínimo cinco prescrições com indicação desse tipo de tratamento, e como usuária diz que a lente com esse tratamento específico lhe trouxe um conforto visual incrível.

Tendo certeza ou não das reais consequências dessas luz vários fabricantes de aparelhos eletrônicos estão investindo em parcerias com desenvolvedores, em programas que também ajudam a reduzir a emissão dessa luz. A Microsoft por exemplo tem a intenção de adicionar esse filtro em sua próxima atualização.
