Nesta terça feira (7), iniciou em Ponta Grossa, a Supercopa Brasil de Basquete. O Novo Basquete Ponta Grossa (NBPG), enfrentou o Pato Basquete às 20h e venceu com o placar de 80 a 68. O apoio da torcida fez a diferença no jogo, trazendo incentivo para os jogadores.
Milos Alexander, técnico do NBPG, comentou sobre a partida. “A defesa do segundo tempo fez toda a diferença, crescemos e roubamos grandes bolas. Acho que esse foi o grande nome do jogo”. Ele ainda ressaltou a importância de trazer esse evento para Ponta Grossa e contar com o apoio da torcida para enfrentar a pressão nos jogos.
O armador do NBPG, Wilsinho, contou que o time estava sem ritmo de jogo e no meio da partida conseguiram recuperar. “No começo todo mundo estava meio nervoso, e conforme foi passando, fomos se soltando e se encaixando dentro da sua posição”, disse. Segundo ele, o time vem treinando pesado desde fevereiro para vencer esse campeonato.
O presidente da Liga Desportiva de Ponta Grossa (LDPG), Oscar Pereira, esteve presente no primeiro dia de evento. Para ele a expectativa é de primeiro lugar com uma competição sadia. “O nosso objetivo é o primeiro lugar para depois aplaudir a equipe”, falou.
A Supercopa Brasil de Basquete vai até sábado (11), e a entrada é gratuita. O NBPG joga ás 20h, na quarta-feira contra ADRM-Maringá e na quinta-feira contra Fênix Cajazeiras-BA. A final do campeonato ocorre no sábado às 18h.
A Faculdade Secal é apoiadora do NBPG com os times do basquete masculino e feminino e da equipe do Ponta Grossa Futsal Feminino. Ambas as parcerias disponibilizam bolsas de estudo para os(as) atletas.
