O mercado da moda Plus Size vem crescendo no mundo todo. A “nova” indústria da moda vem quebrando os padrões e conquistando cada vez mais seguidores, lojas e profissionais como modelos e consultores, porém o mercado de produtos voltados para esse nicho ainda é muito escasso, representa apenas 5% do varejo da moda no Brasil.
Apesar do seu crescimento na última década, o mercado de trabalho no meio da moda Plus Size no Brasil ainda é muito complicado. “Não são muitas lojas que tem o tamanho Plus, agora que está começando a expandir, normalmente as lojas são mais rotuladas a tamanhos padrões”, relata a modelo Carla Levandoski.
Carla iniciou sua carreira em 2018 como um achado de uma loja voltada para a moda Plus Size. Ela conta que durante a vida e sua carreira também sofreu com preconceito por ser considerada acima do peso. “Sempre ouço: nossa você é tão bonita por que não emagrece? Serve de modelo de capinha de bujão; mas isso não me abala, sou feliz do meu jeitinho e preconceito sempre vai ter, infelizmente”, diz a modelo.
No Brasil existem lojas e confecções voltadas exclusivamente para esse nicho da moda, mas grandes marcas como C&A, Renner e Riachuelo já estão aderindo à nova exigência da indústria da moda e entendendo que não existe um padrão de corpo.
