O agronegócio dos biocombustíveis, por Larissa Bim

ReproduçãoOs biocombustíveis  são originados de fontes renováveis, ou seja, têm ciclo de vida renovável em menos de cem anos. Essas novas fontes de energia possuem menor índice de poluição em sua queima e processamento, podem ser cultivados, além de gerarem empregos e contribuírem para a balança comercial.

Estes combustíveis seriam a solução para os problemas globais de efeito estufa e poluição, se não fossem as grandes indústrias produtoras de petróleo e combustíveis fósseis e também as próprias indústrias da matéria prima destes biocombustíveis, como a cana-de-açúcar e a soja.

O Brasil possui uma área agricultável e clima mais que suficiente para o cultivo de matérias primas de biocombústíveis, além de grande oferta de mão de obra. Apesar disso, 40% da energia do país ainda é gerada através do petróleo.

Após passar por duas crises devido ao alto preço do barril de petróleo, o Brasil criou o programa Proálcool. O país então passou a ser grande produtor e exportador dos derivados da cana-de-açúcar, porém, devido a grande procura pelo etanol, os produtores passaram a preferir vender para as indústrias produtoras do açúcar, devido ao preço mais alto. Por estes agraves, é a vez da indústria do etanol passar por uma crise.

Por outro lado, a produção do biodiesel cresce cada vez mais. No Brasil, a produção chega a 2 milhões de m³ por mês, em que 80% da produção vem da soja, produto também altamente produzido pelo país.

Segundo a Lei 13.263/16, as empresas devem adicionar, no mínimo, 8% de biodiesel ao diesel comum até março de 2017, 9% até 2018 e 10% até 2019.

Este biocombustível ainda permite que cada região do país tenha sua própria matéria prima para produção, incentivando a agricultura familiar, derrubando o monopólio das grandes indústrias e colaborando para que o país desesnvolva economicamente e sustentavelmente.
