Novo Basquete Ponta Grossa contou com a chegada de Baby e Batata para a competição da Supercopa Brasil de Basquete

Para a competição da Supercopa Brasil de Basquete, que está sendo realizada em Ponta Grossa, no ginásio Borell Du Vernay, do dia 7 ao dia 11 desse mês, o time da casa, Novo Basquete Ponta Grossa (NBPG) recebeu uma semana antes da competição dois jogadores novos, Paulo Felipe, conhecido como Baby e André Marques, o Batata.
Batata tem 24 anos e o último time que participou foi o Brusque (SC). Com apenas uma semana no NBPG, ele relata que “a adaptação foi tranquila”. “Já conhecia os jogadores e até joguei contra eles, está sendo fácil”. No primeiro dia de competição, a equipe venceu. Batata comenta como foi a estreia no jogo. “No começo todo mundo estava nervoso, mas ao decorrer da partida o jogo fluiu mais e acabamos saindo com a vitória”.
Questionado o motivo do apelido, o jogador explica como surgiu. “É coisa do colégio, os meninos davam nome de comida para todos da sala e o meu era batata, aí o apelido ficou”.
Já Baby, tem 22 anos e passou por dois clubes antes de chegar até o NBPG. Faz apenas uma semana que ele vem treinando com o time e relata que ainda está na fase de adaptação. “A gente precisa conhecer mais o grupo, estar mais com eles. Ainda é pouco tempo de trabalho, fico um pouco ansioso no jogo”, relatou.
De maneira simpática, ele preferiu não contar o motivo de levar o apelido Baby. “Faz muito tempo já, foi em São José dos Campos (SP) que eles me deram, quando comecei a jogar basquete. Então, tem um tempo que eu tenho esse apelido”. Para o futuro, Baby pretende jogar a Liga Ouro e crescer dentro do esporte.
Próximos jogos
Na sexta-feira (10), não serão disputadas partidas, mas haverá uma competição de habilidade entre os atletas. Cada time indicará três jogadores para a competição. A final será no sábado (11). Os jogos serão às 16h e 18h.
