Após renovação significativa, a Câmara de Ponta Grossa contará com três vereadoras; prefeitura será chefiada por uma mulher pela primeira vez na história
A Câmara Municipal de Ponta Grossa, a partir de 2021, contará com 11 novos vereadores para os próximos quatro anos. Isso representa uma renovação de quase 60% dos parlamentares que exercem mandato até o fim deste ano. Entre as novidades, estão oito vereadores que nunca ocuparam cadeiras na Câmara, e três que já exerceram mandato em legislaturas anteriores.

O legislativo ponta-grossense terá três mulheres eleitas para o mandato de vereadora, um acontecimento inédito na cidade. Além disso, pela primeira vez na história, Ponta Grossa terá uma mulher no comando da prefeitura.
Quem conquistou o cargo máximo do Poder Executivo em Ponta Grossa foi a Professora Elizabeth Schimidt (PSD). A atual vice prefeita da cidade venceu a corrida ao Palácio da Ronda em uma disputa de segundo turno, ocorrida no último domingo (29), contra a deputada Mabel Canto (PSC). A diferença nas urnas foi de aproximadamente 8 mil votos.
Elizabeth Schimidt destaca a importância da participação das mulheres na política. “Há 100 anos, as mulheres lutavam pra votar. Hoje lutamos pra sermos votadas. É um importante passo. Essa abertura de caminhos das primeiras mulheres na politica da nossa cidade vai servir de exemplo pra outras que acreditam na responsabilidade da mulher no desenvolvimento da nossa cidade”, comemora.
Política jovem
A média de idade dos novos vereadores da Câmara de Ponta Grossa é de 44 anos, dois anos a menos se compararmos com a idade dos parlamentares eleitos no último pleito, em 2016. Segundo Dr. Erick, vereador eleito com 2.912 votos, a política arrojada não necessariamente possui ligação com a idade dos parlamentares.
“Eu não me seduzo com idade de parlamentar, o que importa é que esses colegas representem uma mudança, com pensamentos jovens. (…) Tem muita gente que mesmo sendo jovem, representa oligarquias politicas bastante antigas”, enfatiza.
Para o vereador Filipe Chociai, eleito com 1.533 votos e apenas 23 anos, a expectativa é de união e protagonismo geral dos parlamentares, com destaque para a coletividade da Câmara Municipal enquanto instituição. “É necessário que a própria câmara municipal tenha destaque, através da união dos vereadores. A instituição deve tomar a frente e ocupar um papel importante nesse processo político”, comenta.
De acordo com o professor Edson Gil Santos Júnior, jornalista doutorando em ciência política, os vereadores mais jovens trarão novas ideias para o legislativo municipal. Para ele, os trabalhos bem desenvolvidos na Câmara de Ponta Grossa devem ser reconhecidos. “Se propuserem projetos que estejam dentro das competências dos parlamentares, sem invadir a competência do Poder Executivo, com certeza eles terão a oportunidade de fazer um trabalho bacana nos próximos quatro anos”, finaliza.
