Secal e Sindijor promovem palestra sobre eleições

Na última quinta-feira, 20, a faculdade Secal e o Sindicato dos Jornalistas do Paraná (Sindijor) convidaram o professor Roberto Ribas Tavarnaro, ex-Juiz Substituto do Tribunal Regional Eleitoral do Paraná, para palestrar sobre o tema “Jornalismo e Eleições 2018”.

O professor abordou alguns assuntos a respeito da conduta jornalística durante as eleições e usou do 3o artigo da Constituição para respaldar suas falas. Ele deixou claro como o atual jornalismo brasileiro precisa se dedicar a identificar e contornar as “fake news”, em vez de se aprofundar nas propostas e feitos passados dos presidenciáveis.

Outro ponto importante abordado foi a diferença entre as opiniões dos jornalistas e o tratamento privilegiado a algum político ou candidato em específico. “Compromisso com a verdade não impede o jornalista de opinar favorável a um candidato”, explicou. Porém, a opinião não pode ter outra intenção a não ser a reflexão sem manipulação, comenta o professor.

A jornalista e diretora do Sindijor, Aline Rios, também esteve presente. Para ela, o jornalista tem um compromisso ético com seu público e deve sempre procurar promover debates entre a sociedade. Além de ter noção da responsabilidade, honrar a confiança da sociedade no seu trabalho é essencial para o jornalista, afirmou em entrevista aos alunos de jornalismo da Secal.

Turmas de vários períodos do curso de jornalismo e alguns professores participaram da palestra e do debate que veio a seguir. João Filho, acadêmico da Secal, acha extremamente importante esse tipo de debate no meio acadêmico já que o papel do jornalista é de ser o mediador entre o conhecimento e o público. “Capacitar os estudantes de jornalismo enquanto cidadãos para que saibam como funciona toda a engrenagem política e qual seu papel nesse contexto é extremamente benéfico”, contou.

Gustavo Camargo, estudante de jornalismo da UEPG, acha relevante abordar a legislação no contexto das eleições em palestras por ser um assunto mais distante das salas de aula do seu curso. “Ter essa conversa com um ex-Juiz do TRE acaba ajudando muito a evitar cometer gafes e até mesmo entender melhor como funciona os processos eleitorais”, admite.
