O NBPG (Novo Basquete Ponta Grossa) venceu pela primeira vez a Supercopa Brasil de Basquete. Os jogos aconteceram no Ginásio Borell Du Vernay e começaram na terça feira (7) e foram até sábado (11). Eles seguiram invictos por toda competição.
Wilsinho, armador do time e o jogador destaque da última partida, conta o quanto é gratificante trazer um título inédito para Ponta Grossa. Ele agradece a torcida por prestigiar todos os jogos. Quanto à equipe, ele relata que foram evoluindo a cada jogo para chegar a última partida bem. Sobre o fator principal que levou o NBPG ser campeão o atleta conta que “com certeza foi a defesa do time”. “Todo mundo dando o sangue pelo outro. Hoje foi muito bonito de ver nosso time na defesa”, diz.
O clima na equipe era de comemoração e sensação de dever cumprido. O jogador Léo Dias comenta que a vitória foi satisfatória. No começo eles estavam sem ritmo de jogo, mas, depois recuperaram. “A gente confiava que poderíamos ser campeão e acabou que a gente conseguiu ganhar!”, ressalta. De uma maneira simpática, sobre a comemoração da grande vitória o jogador declarou que ia ser algo simples. “Vamos ver um churrasco, uma pizza!”.
A torcedora Silvia Ganini (26), acompanhou todos os jogos do NBPG na competição e relata que o time é muito focado e determinado. “Eu sei que eles treinaram bastante para esse campeonato. Eles tiveram alguns erros no começo, mas conseguiram consertar nos outros jogos. É um time muito forte, são uma família, todos conseguem perceber. Merecem essa vitória!”.
O Novo Basquete Ponta Grossa venceu o ADRM/Maringá por 74 a 46.
