Quando a idade chega, a consideração se vai

O Dia Internacional da Mulher remete a conquistas e vitórias obtidas pelo sexo feminino. Entretanto, ainda existem dados que comprovam a desigualdade entre gêneros. Aos poucos, com a ajuda de leis e instituições, as mulheres vêm quebrando esse tabu. Em muitos casos, quando a idade se aproxima, a consideração por essas mulheres se acaba.

Em Curitiba, de janeiro a abril de 2014, foram registrados pelos Centros de Referência Especializados de Assistência Social (Creas) cerca de 290 casos de negligência ou abandono de idosos. O que impressiona é que a maioria das vítimas são mulheres, 75% nos casos de violência e 58% nos casos de negligência.

Na cidade de Ponta Grossa, o “Lar das Vovozinhas Balbina Branco” vem desenvolvendo desde 1961 um trabalho de acolhimento de idosas. A assistente social e também administradora jurídica, Bruna Sanson, explica como começou o Lar. “Na época, não existia estatuto do idoso ou políticas direcionadas a idosos. O Lar acolhia pessoas que não possuíam condições de sobreviver e também moradores de rua”.

O Lar das Vovozinhas conta com a ajuda de voluntários e a realização de diversas atividades para tentar amenizar o sofrimento e a solidão que as idosas carregam. “Muitas famílias deixam elas aqui e não visitam mais”, explica a administradora. Edelvira de Castro, moradora do Lar, diz sentir a falta de sua família, mas que ao mesmo tempo é grata pelo carinho recebido dos funcionários. “Eu não tinha com quem ficar e vim aqui, gosto muito daqui”.

Esse trabalho prestado às idosas é fundamental para o amparo dessas mulheres. Elas já sofreram muito sendo negligenciadas por suas famílias e precisam de apoio para reverter esse quadro. Graças a iniciativas como a do Lar das Vovozinhas, a consideração por essas idosas ainda existe.
