A família Romanos tem um trajetória de 172 anos com o circo, e por trás de cada artista existe a essência da paixão que os move e uma história para ser contada

A lona colorida em cima da carreta do caminhão e um comboio de carros e trailers entrando na cidade chamam a atenção da população. Um autofalante em cima de um imponente Chevrolet Camaro Amarelo anuncia: “Respeitável público! O Circo Romanos chegou em Ponta Grossa! O show vai começar!”

Quem dirige o carro é o senhor Roberto Aparecido Gomes da Silva, proprietário do Circo Romanos. Sua história com o circo é de longa data, começou desde o berço, já que ele nasceu na 4ª geração de uma família circense. Cresceu em meio aos artistas e com seis anos de idade começou a ajudar o pai nas apresentações do circo e nunca mais parou.

Hoje em dia, Roberto administra os 48 membros que fazem parte da equipe Romanos. Entre eles, estão os 28 artistas que trabalham nos espetáculos fazendo a alegria do público com números de força capilar, trapezistas, equilibristas e apresentações de humor com o palhaço Cheirosinho, além dos shows infantis com bonecos que são a sensação das crianças, incluindo o Homem Aranha, Baby Shark, Minions e PJ Masks.

O empresário conta que a vida de quem trabalha no circo não é fácil. Por trás das cortinas vermelhas, os bastidores nem sempre são um encanto. Em cada nova cidade por onde passam, é preciso se adequar às leis vigentes, pagando impostos e cumprindo exigências, mas muitas vezes não recebem incentivos por parte dos municípios. “Hoje, o circo está passando por muitas dificuldades no Brasil por conta das leis. O início da montagem do circo começa com uma autorização de engenheiro, o bombeiro vai até o local e a vigilância sanitária também. Do mesmo jeito que nós contribuímos com o município, com tudo que eles pedem e exigem, os municípios também poderiam dar incentivos”, relata o proprietário do Circo Romanos.

Apesar da vida circense ser repleta de dificuldades, o brilho nos olhos de Roberto não deixa desmentir: essa vida também é prazerosa. “A melhor parte do circo é conhecer gente diferente. A cada uma ou duas semanas, o circo está em um lugar diferente. A nossa gratidão de estar no circo é fazer amigos. Não adianta você ter 100 mil no bolso e não ter amizades”, finaliza.

A essência do artista circense

Palhaço, equilibrista e trapezista, Nahin Félix do Nascimento da Silva (31) nasceu e cresceu dentro do circo. O dom é hereditário, de pai para filho, através do seu avô, depois para seu pai e em seguida para si. Ser tradicional do circo e também possuir o talento faz com que Nahin seja apaixonado pelo que faz. “Quando eu piso no palco, eu me esqueço de tudo. A gente brinca, faz o público participar, e tirar um sorriso de uma criança ou de um adulto, eu fico satisfeito. Isso é melhor do que qualquer aplauso” reflete o artista.

Começou a desenvolver sua habilidade aos seis anos quando se apresentou no circo pela primeira vez. Iniciou como palhaço, depois aos sete anos passou a ser palhaço equilibrista e com o tempo também aprendeu a desempenhar outras funções, como trapezista. Virtudes que Nahin adquiriu com o seu tio, quem segundo ele, ensinou tudo sobre a arte circense.

Quem vê o palhaço sorrindo no picadeiro, não imagina a dor que muitas vezes está sufocada atrás de cada risada. Durante a vida no palco, muitas memórias foram criadas, uma delas marcou Nahin de forma dolorida. Em um dos momentos mais difíceis enfrentados em sua jornada, durante uma sessão, ele recebeu a notícia de falecimento do tio. “Receber uma notícia dessas em cima do palco caracterizado de palhaço foi uma dor muito tremenda para mim” relembra Félix.

No percurso da sua vida, o palhaço Cheirosinho teve oportunidade de trilhar outros caminhos e sair do mundo artístico, mas o amor pelo circo foi o que sempre o preencheu. Até chegou a trabalhar dois anos em uma empresa, mas não demorou muito para um circo passar pela cidade na qual trabalhava e o fazer voltar a sua essência. “Não deu outra, fiz amizade com o dono e larguei o serviço de um dia para outro, peguei as malas e fui embora com eles”, lembra o palhaço. A criação dentro da arte circense é enraizada, segundo o palhaço, quem nasce dentro dela dificilmente consegue sair, até tenta, mas sempre volta.

O palhaço Cheirosinho já está há três anos no Circo Romanos. Dentro do espetáculo, ele apresenta quatro atrações: palhaço, homem de quatro pernas, equilíbrio em corda bamba e trapézio. A construção do espetáculo também é por sua conta, ele cuida e organiza toda a programação das apresentações. O desafio nessa situação é conseguir sincronizar e intercalar as atrações, já que acontece tudo muito rapidamente, então a colaboração e a ajuda de todos os envolvidos são bem importantes nesse processo.

No circo, uma das bases mais sólidas que se tem é a humildade. Não existe “o artista”, todos são colegas de trabalho e cooperam nas mais diversas funções, além do palco, para que tudo saia conforme o planejado e com qualidade para o público. O trabalho é todo em conjunto, desde a montagem e desmontagem do local, limpeza, atendimento ao público, propagandas, vendas de comida e o que mais seja necessário para se fazer um circo funcionar. “Termina o espetáculo, enquanto um tira fotos com as pessoas, outro já vem arrumar as cadeiras e para o próximo espetáculo, outro já está organizando a fila e recebendo os ingressos, no circo somos uma família, temos que ser unidos”, explica Cheirosinho.

O circo faz nascer uma família, tanto os que são de sangue, quanto os agregados no caminho, e na realidade do dia a dia, eles aprendem o verdadeiro significado da palavra união. “Eu agradeço muito essa família (Romanos), cheguei do nada aqui e eles me consideram como um filho, então isso para mim é muito especial” expressa Nahin. Há cobranças também, como em qualquer outro trabalho, mas também há conselhos e “puxões de orelha” para o bem.

Depois de cumprir com as obrigações do espetáculo, entre uma folga e outra, eles saem para fazer passeio, visitar familiares e conhecer a cidade que estão alocados, além de realizar os afazeres domésticos. Uma das maiores curiosidades que as pessoas têm em relação a vida dos artistas, é saber como são os trailers, onde comem, tomam banho, etc. O palhaço Cheirosinho não quis abrir a sua casa para as jornalistas curiosas, porque tinha acabado de chegar da balada, mas garantiu, que mesmo morando sozinho, mantem a casa sempre limpa e organizada. “É uma casa normal, é pequeno, mas tem tudo que a gente precisa, os mesmo benefícios que eles têm numa casa comum, nós temos aqui” conta.

A vida circense tem renúncias, mas quem faz por paixão sabe mais sobre o combo de encantos que nenhuma outra profissão traz: união, sorriso, família e arte. “O verdadeiro artista, é aquele que bate marreta, que limpa o circo, é aquele que enfrenta barro, que enfrenta chuva para erguer a lona para cuidar de tudo isso aqui, isso é família”, finaliza Nahin.

A nova geração

Rafaella Mendes Ferreira (18) e Luiz Henrique Ferreira (8) são irmãos, filhos de trapezistas, nascidos no mundo do circo. Livres para escolher o futuro que desejarem, não se veem em outro lugar, que não seja o circo. A extrovertida Rafaella desde criança se apresenta no Circo Romanos, como bailarina trapezista. A “menina determinada em tudo o que faz”, como ela se descreve, já quis um dia quis ser doutora, acabou por seguir os passos da mãe e hoje tem sonhos concretos. Quer construir uma família com o namorado – que também é artista – no circo e passar para os filhos a herança que recebeu.

Luiz Henrique, menino tímido e observador, guarda toda sua energia para treinar muito equilibrando seus malabares, segundo ele, “a arte mais difícil” do circo. Ele ainda gatinhava quando começou a brincar com as claves e bolas, não parou mais. Os planos para o futuro, ainda não estão tão bem definidos, o que é compreensível para um menino de oito anos. Quando questionado sobre o que ele quer ser quando crescer, Luiz pensa um pouco, mexe com os malabares sentado na escada do trailer com sua roupa especial, feita de veludo azul-marinho, coladinha no corpo, toda enfeitada com pedrarias prateadas. “Quero ser militar, e malabarista”, ele tenta explicar.

Apaixonados pela realidade que vivem, os irmãos já mudaram de escola centenas de vezes, normalmente, é uma escola nova a cada duas semanas. Em cada cidade, novos amigos e uma nova cultura, para alguns, conhecer essa realidade, pouco confortável, pode passar a ideia de que a vida no circo é muito difícil para uma criança ou um jovem, não para esses dois. Eles adoram tudo isso, as viagens, os desafios, e se divertem muito fazendo do picadeiro, a brincadeira mais fantástica possível.

Um lugar encantado, surreal, lúdico. Roupas brilhantes, luzes, música e aplausos. Apesar de todos os perrengues que estes artistas têm de enfrentar, da correria durante os espetáculos, três, quatro no mesmo dia, há um brilho no olhar quando eles falam sobre a vida que os escolheu, sobre fazer o que amam. Se o futuro incerto amedronta a muitos durante a juventude trazendo insegurança e muitas dúvidas, Rafaella só tem um medo “que o circo morra”.
